It's pretty clear that there were contacts, though it's unknown how high those contacts went, and certainly no evidence that Saddam and Al Qaeda were "in league" as was alleged by the war's peddlers. What's interesting is that Micah indicates there may have been at least some al Qaeda/Saddam cooperation as Lt. General Michael DeLong also told me <a href="http://regimeofterror.com/archives/2006/09/3star_general_reveals_addition/" rel="nofollow">here</a>. DeLong also said the U.S. was aware of a WMD facility in Northern Iraq and that Saddam's men were not only aware of it but had visited it. Take it for what it's worth but Micah's, and Matt's, assertion that this camp should have been hit as early as possible is spot on.
