Disgraced Hospital Administrator Rick Scott Takes Another Shot At Health Care Reform

Rick Scott, the disgraced and fraudulent former hospital administrator, is back on the air with a new ad attempting to block effective health care reform.

Watch it:

These ads attempt to conflate the current health care reform proposals before Congress with the government-run health care systems in other parts of the world. This is wrong.

Current reform proposals would let families keep their current doctor and insurance plan, let them choose a public insurance plan if they prefer, give doctors and patients better information to make healthy choices, bring down the costs that are burdening businesses and family budgets, and increase access to insurance for the 52 million Americans without coverage.

Since the beginning of the recession, over 730,000 workers have lost the insurance they once had through their jobs. In many, when they lose coverage, their spouses and children lose coverage also. People who have a history of medical conditions are turned away from private health insurance plans, or face higher co-pays and deductibles.

Rick Scott’s only answer to this spiraling crisis is to block reform and distort the solutions offered by others.

The Obama team has more in common with Rick Scott than is obvious.

Rick’s management practices caused thousands of HCA employees to lie to maximize reimbursement. For that Columbia/HCA paid a $1.7 billion fine.

The Obama team utilizes the same distorting pay practices to reform education and health care.

White House health czar Nancy Ann DeParle spent seven years in a private equity firm specializing in health care. CCMP Capital Partners utilizes many of Rick Scott’s methods in growing profits of affiliates.

Private healthcare wins in Obama health care deform. They’re behind Rick Scott’s latest lie. They’re also behind many Corporacrat members of Congress and have an insider in the White House reform office.

The U.S. has thousands of tragic stories, from people without coverage. It seems a weekend doesn’t go by without fundraisers for local folks with serious health problems, cancer, heart diseases, etc.

Rick Scott’s company is owned by a private equity firm, one like Nancy Ann DeParle’s CCMP Capital Partners. Guess who is on Scott’s Board of Directors? Tom Scully of Medicare Part D fame. Tom is a General Partner in Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity firm with a strong health care niche.

Health care reform is coming from a bunch of heavy hitter insiders, the vast majority with allegiance to private insurers and for-profit healthcare companies. Watch closely!

Actually, Rick Scott is a lawyer. He did grow Columbia into a huge hospital chain when he bought out HCA. I’m not sure HCA looks back fondly on their time under Rick’s thumb. You’ll have to ask the boys at KKR about that. The private equity firm owns HCA.

As for the cost of for-profit hospital buyouts, interest expenses soar:

They don’t say how many cases they had to sift through to find these, nor do they mention how many uncovered patients in the U.S. are going through the same. Also, some patients who DO have coverage encounter these types of things, depending on how their ins. company’s bottm line is looking for the year, they may choose to simply deny benefits for a while. Michael Moore has been accused of cherry picking his cases for SICKO, same thing has been done, here.

  5. For the children Says:

What do you do if your loved one is in a hospital is wich is so hot that thousands of patients are dying because of the heat and you can’t turn on the air condition?

What do you do if you’re told that your loved one can’t get that pacemaker because he/she is too old?

What do you do if your child one has wait months or even years for Medical treatment for a serious injury and dies in the process?

What do you do if your government screws up and denines health care for you newborn baby? Do you think you have recourse?

What do you do if the government denys care because you are over weight, eat junk food, or drive your car too much?

Big government only cuts cost by not paying, delaying, or mandating health care cuts in services, providers, and procedures. This is the reason why it is so expensive now and why everyone needs insurance to afford it. Big Governments involvment into health care has forced health care providers to raise prices in order to cover costs. It is also why filing an insurance claim is such a nightmare because of excessive government regulation, which actually reduces care.

Freedom from government allows people more flexibility, more choices, and more care, because people can profit by making health care more efficient, enjoyable, and more effective. It is the only way of lower care cost, improve quality, and increase care for everyone. Imagine if the cost were so low that we don’t need the insurance.

There is a reason why elected officials always have different health care then the masses.
