Unlike Mr. Will, I research my references. From Billboard:

Feminists picketed Sir Mix-A-Lot concerts all across the country that summer, but despite their efforts, record buyers sided with the rapper: "Baby Got Back" spent five weeks atop the pop charts, selling over two million copies; it also pushed Mack Daddy into the Top Ten, and went on to win a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. Billboard magazine ranked it as the second biggest single of the year, behind only Boyz II Men's juggernaut "End of the Road."

The first rule of ideologues: if the fact don't fit the theory, the facts must be wrong. In Mr. Will's case, the facts about global warming haven't fit his theory -- pollution and the planet go fine together without any need for government protection -- for more than a decade. No reason to amend the theory. Just deny the overwhelming evidence and scientific consensus that we need to change what we are doing. Even the Bush Administration, the auto companies and most oil companies have stopped pretending that human-induced global warming is not real.
