The "opinion" set forth by the WSJ has the now-familiar ring of the Bush/Rove/Cheney crowd (now thankfully gone from the White House and controlling less and less of the Congress): When you are about to say something totally false, accuse your "opponent" of the activities you are about to (or already have) engage(d) in. And, do not forget to add some odor of anti-Americanism, socialism or communism, and non-patriotism to your accusations. Under that plan, we were treated to an illegal war (we were not Patriotic and were un-American if we did not go along), to constant attacks on the Constitution and civil rights (see previous parenthetical comment), the "Swift Boat" attacks (cowards acusing true war veterans of failure of Patriotism), and so on and so forth, ad nauseum, throughout the last 8 years. Sadly, either the WSJ has not yet read the election returns or has hired all the above-noted individuals to work for it now that they have been booted out of their old jobs. Further, given the info in the WSJ vs. the realities of our economy and government over the last several years, I'd say there is nothing worth reading there unless we want more economic or political fantasy.
Most of the rest of us have moved on, fortunately. If the WSJ wants to become just another name from the past, it will keep refusing to move forward with us.
