JimboSlice -
Al Gore should stick to what he does best, blow hot air, and leave the engineering to engineers.

so i suppose youre an engineer jimbo? because really all youre doing is blowing hot air too at this point, and doubt a paid "poster".
really i guess the bottom line is if this technology is available, why don't we see it? give us one "real" example of clean coal working, not just a rehash of the talking points and lies which the coal industry puts out there. as gore points out there are no "clean coal" plants nor any real plans for any. since we're starting from zero on the coal side too why not invest in a real clean technology like solar or wind which would be much more readily available and distributed worldwide rather than coal?

i've no doubt you cut and paste posts like this across the web for a small fee. again all you seem to be doing is calling names and casting distractions rather actually discussing the issue rationally. oh well, at least you're a step up from "drill baby drill"

Al Gore is dead wrong. Clean Coal is feasible, under the proper economic conditions. Al Gore should stick to what he does best, blow hot air, and leave the engineering to engineers.

It really saddens me when people who have no technological knowledge like Al Gore get to share in prizes of real genius. You know that whole IPCC thing that Gore jacked on and stole half of their Nobel Prize from, they wrote a whole paper on "clean coal" and capture techniques.

It sickens me that demagogues like Al Gore spew this stuff, and it turns people off from the real solutions. You know what AL, clean coal is a lot more real than your carbon offset purchases, and the toxic chemicals that go into producing your solar panels!

Clean coal is possible, and it is where we should be pushing the coal industry to. Clean coal has the potential to solve our climate change problem by taking the emissions from electricity down to 0, and it has the potential to free us from foreign oil by use of the same process that the Nazi's used in WWII to produce jet fuel. If the South Africans can do it so can we.

The technology for clean coal is a lot closer than a new battery technology that makes wind and solar feasible for 100% of the power, and we certainly can't get 100% of our countries power from Al Gore's dream of carbon offsets for all.
