		<description>The earmarks pencil out to about $4,000 for each of the residents of that town at a time when they were cutting taxes.  I think you&#039;ll find that many of the conservatives who purport to support cutting taxes are actually just interested in shifting the burden of paying for services to others. They are more interested in federal welfare than they are in taking care of their own needs.

We see this all the time in Washington state.  The welfare counties in the East have a very low tax burden and draw disproportionately from the state budget.  The more progressive citizens and politicians in the heavily populated West of the state subsidize the rural lifestyle of the East.</description>
