Is John McCain in the pocket of oil companies?
Is John McCain in the pocket of insurance companies?
Is john McCain in the pocket of pharmaceutical companies? What countries is john McCain in the pocket of?
Here is a list of lobbyists and employees of major companies working in major positions in the McCain campaign. It will answer any questions you might have about the people who are advising and influencing him.

EVERYTHING Newt touches is a hoax...Why does ANYONE listen to this bag-o-hot-air?? Further proof that the republican dumbing-down-of-America campaign seems to be working in some circles...scary...

Actually, if you divide $2500 by $3, you get the average of 833.33 gallons consumed per year. Multiply that by the current price of $4, and you get $3,333.32.

Nonetheless, you make an excellent point. Of course, I think the more relevant issue you note is how insulting the prize is given the millions the oil companies spend on advertisements to keep the US public complacent.

The contest should really be titled: "Who can prove themselves to be the most Gullible American and Republican Patsy?".
