But the VAST majority of arm-chair "Global Warming Skeptics" have NO understanding of the science behind all of this. They use "empirical" evidence... super cold days in Winter or more snow in Antarctica serve as "evidence" that Global Warming is not real. I've argued before, the phrase <strong><em>should be</em></strong> "Global Climate Change" because the term "Global warming" conjures images of 130' Summer days and boiling oceans. But the "warming" is really between a fraction of a degree to several degrees at the poles. But the effects these modest rises have on the <em>Climate</em> are dramatic. It is why we see simultaneous droughts & floods at the same time with increased frequency year after year, like we do right now between California & Cedar Rapids. Moisture from one place is sucked dry and it's all dumped in someplace else. This is due to warmer temperatures, and will only get worse. But it doesn't take a 130' Summer to happen.
