McCain has a truly loooowwww rating on his environmental voting record in the Senate, so everything he says about such matters is highly suspect. However, I find the subject of windpower subsidies a mixed bag. While Big Oil, King Coal and nuke boosters should not be on the government dole and safe, sustainable forms of energy need a leg up, when I see for-profit outfits like Cape Wind getting subsidized to trash gems like Nantucket Sound (located in PUBLIC waters, btw) I have to wonder where it will end.

Cape Wind boosters are using this story in their never-ending effort to ram Cape Wind down our throats here in Massachusetts. All windpower projects are not the same. Siting needs to be seriously considered. The privatization of the commons needs to be considered. Cape Wind is the right project in the WRONG PLACE.
