No Time for Idle Debate

I challenge Senator McCain's claim, "(W)e know that among all greenhouse gasses, the worst by far is the carbon-dioxide that results from fossil-fuel combustion." Is that CO2 any different from the CO2 we exhale or the CO2 from yeast? I believe the environment faced a CO2 crisis with the development of organisms that exhale. The environment and the climate survived that crisis. Even when man domesticated yeast for bread and alcohol production, and started to cut down and burn trees for fuel, the climate survived. I believe there is natural climatic variability that overwhelms man's greenhouse gas inputs, here is my evidence.

When politicians visit some extreme latitude to observe the effects of gloabal warming, as Senator McCail claims, "A few years ago I traveled to the area of Svalbard, Norway" you can be sure that they visited in the summer. Senator McCain went to Norway in August to watch glaciers melt. Glaciers do two things, they melt and flow slowly downhill. Politicians do two things, they visit the Antartic in the northern winters and visit the artic in northern summers. I would pay good money to see a politcian visit an extreme latitude when it's local winter.

Let's take our time and study the climate. Our climate models are bad, let's study the climates of other planets and create viable climates on the moon, in high earth orbit and under the deep oceans to learn the real causes of climate variation.

The policy McCain proposes will not stop climate change and will increase the cost of gas and other energy. I hope Senator McCain takes the time to listen to the debate.

Sincerely,
Brian Ganek

As a Republican, he's not allowed to say anything directly against the economic interests of the oil and coal/nuclear energy companies. They're funding his campaign.

The problem is, he's too entrenched in the muck of McSameness to ever get out from under the mudslide and lead the country forward into real change.

We need Obama and a massive popular revolution.

Perhaps McSame McCain is becoming Halfway McCain, as he sees the problem but doesn't offer a real solution to it. http://energysmart.wordpress.com/2008/05/12/halfway-mccain-see-the-problem-not-a-solution/
